How we look after your details

Who we are

This website belongs to Coastwide Church Ltd (ABN 25 132 966 691), a registered charity that meets as CoastWIDE Church at 175 Napper Rd, Arundel QLD 4214. When this page says “we”, it means the church.

What we collect

• Through our forms, including Stay connected on our home page: your name and your email address or phone number, and a message if you write one. When you plan a visit, also the service you plan to come to and the age group of any children coming with you.
• When you sign up for Young Adults: your name, email address, mobile number and age group, plus how you heard about us and a message if you add them. For high-school students we also ask for a parent or guardian’s name and phone number.
• When you give online: your name, email address and payment details, which you enter into Stripe’s secure payment form on our Giving page. Stripe tells us who gave, how much and to which fund. We never see your full card number.
• When you give by cryptocurrency: the gift is recorded on a public blockchain, which anyone can view. We only see the sending address and the amount.
• Cookies and tracking: apart from Stripe’s fraud-prevention cookies on the Giving page (see below), our website doesn’t set cookies, store anything else in your browser or use analytics or advertising trackers.

Why we collect it

• To reply to your message or question.
• To welcome you when you visit, with Children’s Church and crèche ready for your family.
• To welcome you to Young Adults and, for high-school students, to be able to contact a parent or guardian.
• To keep you updated about church life, if you asked us to.
• To process your gift and send you a receipt.

Who helps us

• Netlify hosts this website. Netlify Forms stores what you send through our forms and emails it to church staff.
• Stripe processes gifts made on our Giving page. Once you start choosing a gift there, the page loads Stripe’s script, which looks at how the giving form is used and sets two cookies on our site to help prevent fraud: __stripe_mid, kept for a year, and __stripe_sid, kept for 30 minutes.
• YouTube (Google) plays our videos. They load from youtube-nocookie.com, and only when you press play.

These providers may store information outside Australia, for example in the United States. Each looks after it under its own privacy policy: Netlify, Stripe and Google.

We never sell your details or share them with anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions only as long as we need them, and we delete them from Netlify after 12 months. We keep records of gifts for seven years, as charities are required to.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct the details we hold about you, or ask us to delete them. If you asked us to keep you updated and change your mind, let us know and we’ll stop. Email admin@coastwidechurch.com or call 0407 749 418.

A regular gift can be stopped at any time through “Manage regular giving” on our Giving page, or by contacting us.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
