A website everyone can use

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard the Australian Human Rights Commission points websites to. We check our pages with automated tools and by using them with a keyboard, at phone and desktop sizes.

What helps

• Every page works with a keyboard, shows where you are as you move through it, and starts with a “Skip to content” link.
• Photos have text descriptions, and our forms have labels and say clearly when something needs fixing.
• Text and buttons are set in colours with strong contrast, and the pages still work when you zoom in.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, the site’s animations stop. Otherwise the home page headline flips once and then stays still, the scrolling strips of photos and words pause when you point at them, tab to them or tap them, and a few small background movements keep going.
• Videos only play when you press play.

What we know isn’t perfect

• Captions: our services and Bible studies play from YouTube, and their captions come from YouTube. They may be missing or imperfect, especially during a live stream. If that stops you following a message, please tell us.
• Giving online: the payment form on our Giving page is provided by Stripe. If it doesn’t work for you, you can also give by bank transfer or in person on Sundays, as that page explains.
